PANDEIRO with Jonathan De Andrade (Brazil) NEW

This is a wonderful opportunity to learn pandeiro techniques in the company of other drumming enthusiasts. Capoeira, Samba, Baião, Côco, Funk, Maracatu. Bring a pandeiro.
Two different workshops for both beginners and advanced.

Born in Salvador Bahia, Jonathan has been in touch with percussion since early age of five when started to listen and play Olodum tunes. Has studied Pandeiro with Paulinho Silva, Marcus Suzano and Mestre Alysson Velez. Developed a good understanding of Brazilian Rhythms, the modern approach and the introduction of Pandeiro in the Brazilian pop music, jazz etc. He is based in Dublin and perform with a series of bands, from samba, choro, forró, axé, samba-rock. Apart of being a lover of Brazilian Music also has a particular interest over Cuban, Spanish and jazz music and it is crazy about play all this rhythms with a pandeiro!

FORRÓ DANCE with Junio Reis (Brazil)

After last year’s success, Junior is back with his flying Forrò class. A chance to experience the easy going movement and vibrant forrò dance, the heartbeat of Northeast Brazil. Wear soft shoes and loose clothing.

The annual ‘Na Ginga Da Capoeira’ comes to a close with an explosive Brazilian party jam-packed with spectacular live performances, bands and DJs. Kicking off at 9pm with the flaming batucada rhythms of Happy City Samba Band and a big Brazilian dance celebration with Samba dancers, Capoeira performances and the new entry Forrò Roots, Irish-Brazilian Dublin-based Forrò group, presenting warm Latin beats and exotic harmonies for non-stopping dancing!. The party grooves on til 3am with DJs Sansao & Lex Woo.
